Meet our Management Team….
Scott Wagstaff
Our General Manager, Scott Wagstaff has been in this position since April 2010 and taken the Club through a great deal of change in this time. Scott is a PGA Professional and after joining the Club as a junior in 1989, completed his PGA Traineeship at Carbrook under the watch of current Head Professional Tony Di Tommaso in 1999. Scott drives his team focus on the small things that make the customer experience special. He strives for a culture that values authenticity, genuinely caring about people and a team that fosters the Club ethos of friendliness, a welcoming nature and a relaxed yet professional feel to the Club.
Paul Roper
Paul joined our team in February 2023 after an extensive 20+ year career in McDonalds. Since arriving at Carbrook Paul's role sees him look after all aspects of the Club's Clubhouse Operations including the Food and Beverage business, Corporate Golf Business as well as providing support to the General Manager and Board of Directors. Paul is a passionate golfer after taking up the game only a few years ago. Paul brings with him a wealth of knowledge that will help the Club position itself over the coming years.
Brett Thomson
Brett joined the Club in July 2005 as Assistant Superintendent and was appointed the position of Superintendent only 6 months later. Brett has been instrumental in leading our small but efficient Course Team from a reasonable golf course to what it is now today. Brett was awarded the 2010 Superintendent's Achievement Award by the Golf Course Superintendents Association of Queensland at the Queensland Golf Industry Awards. Brett's ability to deliver our outstanding Tifdwarf greens at the highest level almost all year round is something that the Club and members are very proud of. He has also managed the course through three floods (2013, 2017 and 2022) which were devastating to say the least, but we made it through and the course continues to improve under his leadership.
Angus Porter
Angus Porter is our Director of Golf and looks after the Golf Shop Business and all Golf Operations at the club. Angus is a full certified PGA Professional and is advanced in Coaching, Game Development & Management. Angus completed his three year PGA Traineeship at Carbrook and then moved in to the Club's Administration for 4 years before taking on this current role managing the Golf Shop business. Caitlin Hawkins
Caitlin joined our team in August 2023 and has taken over the busy area of managing our Membership department. With over 1000 members at the Club this keeps her on her toes. Caitlin has an extensive career in hospitality and has also worked at the very progressive Club Parkwood.
