Ladies Lounge - May 2018

It seems to me that now that the highlight of most Queenslanders lives (the 2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games) is over, suddenly it is May which means almost  half of the year has past.  Just on the Commonwealth Games, I believe it is worth mentioning that four of our Carbrook lady golfers were volunteers for the Games – well done ladies.

A few ladies were feeling a little daunted by the thought of playing 27 holes for our Foursomes Championship, but the weather was kind to us (as it is at this time of the year) and the day was thoroughly enjoyed by more than thirty ladies. We have been consistently getting a few more than thirty ladies each Tuesday, which is great.

Zodiac Day gave us the opportunity to play with partners who we might not have not played with before.  There were only a couple of months that did not have enough birthday girls to make up a threesome if not a foursome.

This month we have two rounds of the Captains Shield, an Aggregate Stableford event, being played on the 8th and 15th May, with our big day being our Charity Day for Mission Possible, to be held on Friday 25th May.  So ladies ring your friends from other clubs with an invitation, as this is traditionally a fun packed day for a most worthy cause.  Morning tea is always well catered for by our generous cooks and the run down raffle table is also usually laden with amazing donations.
