Ladies Lounge - December 2018

The end of the year seems to have arrived with a rush as it always does – every year we say we are going to be better organised, but it seems to catch us by surprise every year….

The last few weeks have been very busy with Melbourne Cup on Tuesday 6th November, with a field of 52 enjoying a mixed social day.  Numbers were somewhat down on last year because the choice of events increases each year.

Carbrook ladies hosted the Brisbane and District Ladies Golf Association’s Ladies’ Inter Committee Day on Friday 9th November, with a field of 79 ladies from as far afield as Laidley, McLeod, and Keperra, as well as a great representation from our neighbours - Redland Bay, Wynnum, Mt Warren and Windaroo.  The Ladies Committee received a lovely thank you from the President of the BDLGA, congratulating the Club not only for the course presentation, but our hospitality as well – thank you again to our generous ladies who once again baked up a storm for our visitor’s morning tea.

On the 13th November when our course was closed for greens renovations, a small group of ladies enjoyed a fun day of golf at Sirromet Winery – yes I do believe they played golf there, not wine tasting…..

Tuesday 11th December is the Ladies Christmas break up and Annual Prize giving, so once again we are expecting a number of past players to join us in celebrating another successful year.  Committee members have been busy planning a day packed with fun and surprises for all and testing their craft abilities (or lack there of)…

The ladies comp will commence again on Tuesday 29th Januaury.  So very Merry Christmas to all.
