Junior and Development Update - April 2019

Junior Golf

Our Junior programs are coming towards the end of term 1, with all participants thoroughly enjoying their golf and have all improved immensly.

This Sunday 7th April, will see the Junior's on course for their end of term competition, we wish them all the best of luck and have no doubt it will be great fun!

Carbrook Golf Club won the prestigious title of Junior Program of the Year at the 2018 Queensland Golf Industry Awards held at RACV Royal Pines.

It was great recognition of the Club's work in this area which started off with only a handful of junior members in 2015 to now around 130 children exposed to the various elements of the Club's programs each week.

Angus Porter, Kate Dunn and Scott Wagstaff accepting the award

Junior Development Coach Kate Dunn who has been behind much of the Club's success spoke on behalf of the Club in accepting the award. She acknowlegded the amazing support the Club has received from the members, parents, schools and teachers in taking the program to what it is today.

Our term 1 ladies let's golf programs were a great success with many ladies being introduced to the game of golf for the first time, and others getting back into the swing of things after a few years away from the game.

We will be looking at running another Ladies Let's Golf Program in Term 2, so keep en eye out on the club website and social media avenues for more information. If you know of any ladies who might be interested in giving golf a go, this is the program for them.

Happy Golfing Everyone
